Barcelona are the club where Correct Score bettors are most tempted to reach for the big numbers: 3-0, 4-0, something with a five in it. I wanted to know how often those scores actually land, so I went through 760 La Liga matches from 2005/06–2025/26 and wrote every result from Barcelona's side. This file sits alongside my correct score predictions today page as the background I check before Barcelona play.
The headline is that Barcelona won by three or more goals in 30.4% of league matches, a genuinely large share. Yet the single most common score is still a 1-0 win, at 10.5% with fair odds of 9.50. The big-win habit also peaked in the middle of the window and has cooled since, while one-goal wins have climbed. One note on coverage: 2006/07 is missing from the data.
Exhibit ASingle-goal wins are the largest slice of Barcelona victories
Barcelona won 543 of the 760 matches, 71.4%, and this chart splits those wins by margin. The tallest bar is the one-goal win at 33.1%, followed by two-goal wins at 24.3%. Wins by three make up 19.9%, by four 11.8% and by five or more 10.9%.

| Share of 543 league wins by winning margin | |
|---|---|
| Won by 1 | 33.1% |
| Won by 2 | 24.3% |
| Won by 3 | 19.9% |
| Won by 4 | 11.8% |
| Won by 5+ | 10.9% |
What I take from this is that the tail is long rather than heavy. Each margin above two is smaller than the one before, but together the three-plus wins outweigh the one-goal group. That is why the 30.4% figure across all matches is real and not a myth built on a few memorable thrashings.
Exhibit B1-0, 2-1 and 2-0 lead Barcelona's scoreline table
Switching from margins to exact scores changes the picture. The 1-0 win appears in 80 of 760 matches, 10.5%, fair odds 9.50. The 2-1 win sits at 9.6% (10.41) and the 2-0 at 9.5% (10.56), so the top three are almost level.
The first big win on the list is the 3-0 at 7.6%, fair odds 13.10, with the 4-0 further down at 5.8% and fair odds 17.27. The ten scores shown cover 68.9% of matches; the remaining 31.1% is spread across 27 further scorelines.
The ten scores shown cover 68.9% of matches.

Fair odds are my yardstick because correct-score prices are not in the dataset, so I cannot measure returns at real prices. The honest caveat is that single scorelines are rare events: a 10% share from a sample this size carries a 95% range of roughly ±2 to ±3 points, which makes the top three effectively tied rather than a ranked order.
Exhibit CFour or more without reply is the busiest grid cell
The grid crosses Barcelona's goals with goals conceded. The busiest cell is Barcelona scoring four or more and conceding 0, at 11.8% of matches, just ahead of the 1-0 at 10.5%. Barcelona scored four or more in 26.4% of matches and conceded three or more in only 5.8%.
The clean-sheet column is the strongest on the board: 43.6% of matches overall, with a win to nil in 39.5%. At the other end, Barcelona failed to score in 8.4%, and the 0-0 draw sits at 4.1%.
View the data: barcelona goals for and against
| Conceded 0 | Conceded 1 | Conceded 2 | Conceded 3+ | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Barcelona 0 | 4.1% | 3.0% | 1.3% | 0.0% |
| Barcelona 1 | 10.5% | 6.3% | 3.9% | 1.7% |
| Barcelona 2 | 9.5% | 9.6% | 5.1% | 1.6% |
| Barcelona 3 | 7.6% | 5.1% | 2.9% | 1.2% |
| Barcelona 4+ | 11.8% | 9.2% | 4.1% | 1.3% |
For me this is where the 4+ row earns attention. If a bookmaker offers grouped big-win outcomes, the 4+ row with 0 or 1 conceded (11.8% and 9.2%) is where much of Barcelona's scoring weight lives, and it is spread too thinly across exact scores to back any one of them comfortably.
Exhibit DBig-margin wins peaked in 14/15–16/17, then cooled
Splitting the window into seven three-season blocks shows how the shape has moved. Wins by three or more goals rose from 22.4% in 05/06–07/08 to a high of 43.0% in 14/15–16/17, then dropped to 26.3% and sat at 23.7% in both of the latest blocks. Each block holds 76–114 matches, so I read the direction rather than individual points.
One-goal wins moved the other way, from 15.8% of matches in 05/06–07/08 to 30.7% in each of the last two blocks. Wins to nil stayed steadier, peaking at 44.7% in 08/09–10/11 and running at 37.7% in 23/24–25/26.
76–114 matches per block.

| Won to nil | Won by one goal | Won by 3+ goals | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 05/06–07/08 | 32.9% | 15.8% | 22.4% |
| 08/09–10/11 | 44.7% | 21.9% | 34.2% |
| 11/12–13/14 | 35.1% | 21.9% | 36.8% |
| 14/15–16/17 | 43.9% | 20.2% | 43.0% |
| 17/18–19/20 | 40.4% | 21.9% | 26.3% |
| 20/21–22/23 | 39.5% | 30.7% | 23.7% |
| 23/24–25/26 | 37.7% | 30.7% | 23.7% |
This is the chart that shapes my reading most. The long-run 30.4% for big wins leans on a dominant middle period; the latest blocks look much more like a side that wins tight and often keeps a clean sheet, so I give 1-0 and 2-1 more weight than the full-window table alone suggests.
Dossier verdict
Case closed- Start with narrow wins
The 1-0 (10.5%, fair odds 9.50) and 2-1 (9.6%, fair odds 10.41) lead the full table. One-goal wins also reached 30.7% of matches in each of the two most recent blocks.
- Price big wins honestly
Hold any 3-0 quote against fair odds of 13.10 and any 4-0 quote against 17.27. In the latest blocks three-plus wins ran at 23.7%, below the 30.4% long-run figure.
- Respect the clean sheet
Barcelona kept a clean sheet in 43.6% of matches and conceded three or more in just 5.8%, so scorelines with nothing conceded deserve the first look. The 1X2 market gave them a 68.7% average win chance against an actual 71.4%, a small gap rather than a gift.
