I'm Freya Linden, and I drifted into football betting the same way a lot of people do, watching far too many matches and slowly realising I cared more about how goals were arriving than who actually won. About three years ago I started keeping proper notes, logging how teams set up, how they finished chances, and where my reads went wrong. That habit is what tipped this from a pastime into something I genuinely wanted to get right.

Over/Under 2.5 is where I've found the most consistent patterns, and it suits the way I think. It rewards you for doing the work on team tendencies, defensive shape, and how sides behave on the road versus at home. A side that looks open on paper can be a low-scoring trap if the manager tightens things up away from home, and a cagey-looking fixture can blow open once you notice both defences are leaking the same kind of chances. I look at the quality of chances created, not just the count, and at whether a team protects a lead or chases a second and leaves space behind. It will humble you regularly, and I'm wary of anyone who claims it won't.

When I write something up for Fixed Bet Tips, I try to show the working rather than just post a selection. A pick on its own isn't much use, but the reasoning behind it might help you think about your own bets differently. I get plenty wrong, and I'd rather be straight about that than pretend my record is something it isn't. Only ever stake what you're genuinely fine with losing.
