Villarreal BTTS Stats: Home Games, Prices and a Rising Trend
Villarreal matches have produced goals at both ends more often than La Liga as a whole. The recent seasons, especially at home, have pushed that tendency further.

Villarreal have a reputation for tidy, possession-minded football, and tidy teams often get filed under 'low event'. I wanted to test that against the record: how often do both teams score in Villarreal league matches, and does it shift by venue, by price and over time?
The headline answer is that BTTS landed in 54.6% of 722 La Liga matches, against a league average of 50.8% across the same seasons. That edge is modest but consistent, and it has grown lately. This file sits alongside my GG/NG tips page as the background I check before any Villarreal match.
Exhibit AVillarreal's BTTS rate has climbed well above the league
The season line is where the story starts. The early years swing about. There's a 60.5% in 2005/06, then a drop to 36.8% in 2007/08, the lowest in the record. The mid-2010s were quiet too, with 39.5% in 2014/15 and 36.8% again in 2015/16, both well under the league line.
From 2018/19 the picture changes. Villarreal sat at 65.8% in both 2019/20 and 2020/21, peaked at 78.9% in 2023/24, and then posted 68.4% and 63.2% in the two seasons after. In 2025/26 the league average itself rose to 56.6%, and Villarreal still cleared it.

Across the full run they finished above the La Liga average in 11 of 19 seasons. That's a lean rather than a law, so the recent spell carries more weight for me than the whole history.
Exhibit BHome games now drive the Villarreal BTTS story
Over the whole record, BTTS hit 56.8% at home and 52.4% away, with 361 matches on each side. The era split shows that this home lean is relatively new. In 2005/06โ2009/10 it ran the other way, with away matches at 57.9% and home matches at only 48.7%.
Since then the home figure has risen in every era: 50.0%, then 56.8%, then 66.7% in 2020/21โ2025/26. Away games dipped to 44.7% and 47.4% in the middle eras before bouncing back to 57.9% most recently.

| 2005/06โ2009/10 (76 home / 76 away) | 48.7% | 57.9% |
| 2010/11โ2014/15 (76 home / 76 away) | 50.0% | 44.7% |
| 2015/16โ2019/20 (95 home / 95 away) | 56.8% | 47.4% |
| 2020/21โ2025/26 (114 home / 114 away) | 66.7% | 57.9% |
To me that reads like a home side that commits bodies forward and accepts the counter-punch. Two thirds of recent home matches producing goals at both ends is the strongest single pattern in this file.
Exhibit CVillarreal beat the league BTTS rate at every price
This chart compares Villarreal at each match-winner price with every other La Liga club at the same odds. Villarreal sit higher in every band: 50.4% versus 47.3% when heavy favourites under 1.60, 57.4% versus 52.5% at 1.60โ1.99, 55.1% versus 51.5% at 2.00โ2.99, and 54.0% versus 50.5% as outsiders at 3.00+.
The bars show 95% ranges for the club rate, and they're wide. In the under-1.60 band, with only 115 matches, the range is 9.1 points either side, so no single band settles anything by itself. What persuades me is the consistency: the same small edge shows up whether Villarreal are expected to dominate or to suffer.
Bar ends = 95% range for the club rate.

| 3.00+ (189 matches) | 50.5% | 54.0% | ยฑ7.1 |
The sweet spot looks like the 1.60โ1.99 band, where Villarreal are fancied but not overwhelming. Opponents there seem to find a way through.
Exhibit DBTTS Villarreal matches end level far more often
When both teams scored, Villarreal won 40.4%, drew 33.2% and lost 26.4% of 394 matches. When BTTS failed, they won 49.4%, drew 16.8% and lost 33.8% of 328. The draw rate in BTTS games is about twice as high, which is what you'd expect when goals go in at both ends.
For combination bettors, 'BTTS and Villarreal to win' landed in 22.0% of all league matches, which gives fair odds of 4.55. One caveat applies to everything here. The match history holds no BTTS prices, so these are hit rates and fair odds, not proven returns. Squads and coaches change, so treat them as a base rate rather than a forecast.
